INTRO

Stan Zeff is a DJ, producer, radio presenter, event curator and founder of Tambor Party. His work connects decades of dance music experience with a continuing focus on rhythm, community, movement and connection.

 

BACKGROUND

Stan’s musical journey includes early leadership of Shock Sound System and a connection to London’s Notting Hill Carnival. He later relocated to Atlanta in 2000, where his work as a DJ, producer and curator continued to develop.

 

In 2009, Stan founded Tambor Party in Atlanta. The first gathering took place on August 15 at Cenci on Glenwood Avenue. What began as a recurring dance gathering grew into a long-running music and community platform.

 

TAMBOR PARTY

Through Tambor, Stan has created and curated experiences rooted in African-influenced house music, live percussion and dance. Over time, the work has expanded beyond a single nightlife format into outdoor community events, indoor dance experiences, radio, recorded music and other forms of gathering.

 

MUSIC

As a producer, Stan Zeff’s work has appeared through labels including King Street, Yoruba, Nervous, Turntables on the Hudson and Tambor Music. His production work draws from Afro House, deep and soulful house, percussion and the musical connections between Africa and the wider diaspora.

 

RADIO

Stan presents Sacred Vibrations on WRFG in Atlanta, extending his work as a selector and storyteller into radio.
